Marie Bovo : Cour Intérieure

Marie Bovo is a photographer from Marseille who has a series titled "Cour intérieure" or "Interior Courtyard" where she photographs interior courtyard from below with the tenants dirty laundry hanging about.

I was drawn to the series because of the simplicity of the photos and the difference between the Western world and the Eastern world. We simply do not see cloths lines here, especially in cities so it is a bit of a novelty to me for one but also the simple lines with their laundry just out there for everybody to see. There is something innocent and provocative about it.
